The increasing prevalence of video capturing devices has naturally led to more accidents being captured on video. Understanding the underlying principles of video capture technology enables accurate and proper analysis of the events captured on video. This course will discuss the many common sources of video and the aberrations, artifacts, and distortion present, the video compression process, and the application of various video analysis techniques in accident reconstruction. A case study will be presented to show the application of video analysis in a typical case and how that analysis fits within the broader context of an accident reconstruction.

Presented by Connor Smith, Managing Accident Reconstructionist
