Treehouse Back to School Drive a Success!

Through WDTL's support and contributions, foster youth started this school year with the necessary tools for academic success.  Thank you to the WDTL members who donated to this year's back-to-school drive.

Since the advent of COVID-19 and the recent onset of heavy, smoke-filled skies from fires in the Pacific Northwest, life as we know it has become seemingly less predictable.  In these times of uncertainty, the one thing that has not changed is WDTL's commitment to Treehouse's annual back-to-school drive.  Founded in 1988, Treehouse is Washington's leading nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the academic gap between youth in foster care and their peers.  Treehouse helps 7,000 youth in foster care through programs that help them succeed in school, fulfill key material needs and provide important childhood experiences every child deserves.

Due to the social restrictions in place from COVID-19, this year's back-to-school drive was done virtually.  With contributions from WDTL members, Treehouse reached half its goal in school supply donations through Target's on-line wish list.  WDTL members also donated close to $2,500 to Treehouse.  A huge kudos to Preg O'Donnell & Gillett for their generous donation of $1,000.
