Description:
This program will review what internal medicine is and how to utilize internal medicine in legal defense. We will review conditions suited for internal medicine input. We will also discuss chart navigation pearls including a breakdown of a medical chart note and must-know medical abbreviations. We will review common sources of medical errors, red flags in the chart of interest to legal defense, and questions attorneys should be asking.
Dr. Housel is a board-certified ABIM diplomate that earned her medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. She started her practice at Virginia Mason where she worked as an attending physician and a clinical educator for internal medicine residents and later transferred to the Everett Clinic where she has been working as an internist since 2006. She enjoys the variety and complexity of adult medicine and has experience managing complicated chronic conditions as well as acute medical problems.
