Description:

The Vast Scope of Biomechanics and Human Factors:
Beyond Motor Vehicle Collisions While motor vehicle collisions and slips/trips/falls may be the first things that come to mind when discussing biomechanics and human factors, recreational activities can also utilize the same principles. This presentation will show the ways biomechanics and human factors can be applied to a variety of scenarios, and discuss unique case studies including water tubing, horseback riding, and skiing incidents.

Presented by

Dr. Amanda Stone, Ph.D.
Dr. Stone is a Senior Biomechanist specializing in injury biomechanics.  Dr. Stone has firsthand experience through her focus on injury mechanisms and associated injury tolerances, a process of analyzing the kinematics and kinetics of the human body during a specific event. She also has prior experience conducting research on ACL injury and running biomechanics.

ARCCA specializes in figuring out what happened, or what could happen, over a wide range of situations and from the viewpoint of multiple technical disciplines.
