Volunteering for law school, undergraduate, and high school competitions is an excellent way to be personally involved in providing “hands-on” civic education and this year all competitions are being held via Zoom.
COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES – MOOT COURT AND MOCK TRIAL COMPETITIONS
The WDTL Community Service Committee has been searching for volunteer activities for WDTL members. With the COVID-19 restrictions and concerns, many opportunities are not available except for donating money.
Volunteering for law school, undergraduate, and high school competitions is an excellent way to be personally involved in providing “hands-on” civic education. This year all competitions are being held via Zoom, which makes these great opportunities for all our members especially those who are not located close to a law school.
Most of these opportunities require a 3-hour commitment, cover a wide range of subjects, and most qualify for CLE credit (WSBA no longer restricts the number of CLE credits attorneys may earn as volunteer judges). The following is a list of upcoming competitions seeking lawyers as volunteer judges. Please contact the programs directly for more details about the issues for each competition and information about registering as a judge.
