FAQ - General
    • If you are unable to sign in, then these are possible reasons with corresponding solutions:

      1. You have forgotten your Username or Password. To resolve this, enter your Username for this website, then click the "Send Password" button. An email will be sent containing your Password to the email address corresponding to the Username you entered. If you have forgotten your Username, enter your Email in the Username field, then click "send". Your Username and Password will be sent.

      2. You typed your Username or Password in incorrectly. Sometimes the capital letter "I" is mistaken for the number "1" or the other way around. For your added security, passwords are case sensitive! Have your Password sent to you (see above), then copy & paste your password into the Sign In form.

      3. You are a WDTL member whose dues were recently sent. You will receive your Username via email within a few days.

      4. You were a WDTL member, but have forgotten to renew your membership. To resolve this, please visit our Member Renewal tab.

      5. You are not a WDTL member. To resolve this, please visit our Membership section for information about WDTL and How to Become a Member.
    • Sign In using your current Username and Password, then navigate to User Account found under Member Center. DO NOT MAKE CHANGES TO YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION. Use this page to Change Password ONLY. Usernames may not be changed. To change your Password, open the Change Password section, then complete the Old Password, New Password and Confirm New Password fields, and then click Update Password.
    • Mailing and email address changes should be made online through this website. Update of your mailing address will ensure your listing in the Member Directory is accurate and that future WDTL mailings are sent to the correct address. Update of your email address will ensure that your list-server subscriptions remain operational.

      To make any changes to your information, first Sign In.

      To update contact information, go to the Member Directory. The Member Directory is reached by clicking on Member Directory under the Member Center tab. Enter your last name in the "Name" field, click the filter icon, then select "Contains." To edit your member profile, click on the Edit (pencil) icon that appears to the right of your name. On the Contact Details form, update all fields necessary, then click the Update button found at the bottom right of the form.

      If you do not see the Edit icon next to your name in the Member Directory, check to be sure you are signed in. You are successfully signed in if you can see your name above the top navigation and the Sign Out link appears to the left of your name. If you still do not see the Edit icon, please contact Member Services.
    • Your email address needs to be updated in the Member Directory.

      To make any changes to your information, first Sign In.

    • You can have your username and password sent to you. Click the Member Sign In link found at the top-left of any page. Enter your Username (or enter email address if you do not know your Username), then click the Send Password button. Your username and password will be sent to the email address associated with the Username (or email) entered.
    • To Sign In, click the Member Sign In link found in the upper-left of the website If the Sign Out link is present, then you are already signed in. A mini-form will display prompting for security credentials. Enter your Username and Password, then click the Sign In button.
    • To check if you are a current WDTL member, lookup your name in the WDTL Member Directory located under the Member Center tab. If your name is listed in the member directory, then your membership is current.
 
FAQ - List-Servers
    • List-server subscriptions are self-managed. To update the list-servers to which you want to subscribe, use the List-Servers Subscription Management web tool found on the List-Servers tab (Sign In required). The List-Servers tab is found under Member Center. Note that the List-Servers tab will not show under Member Center unless you are signed in. Check the boxes for the list-servers to which you want to subscribe. Uncheck the boxes for the list-servers to which you want to unsubscribe. When you are satisfied with your selection, click Update.
    • To use a list to which you subscribe, simply send an email to the corresponding list email address from your subscription email address. Your correspondence will then be sent to all subscribers of that list.

      To view the lists, corresponding list email addresses or to check your list subscriptions, go to the List-Servers tab found under Member Center (Sign In required). Note that the List-Servers tab will not show under Member Center unless you are signed in.
    • WDTL list-servers are available to all current members. If you are not a WDTL member or did not renew your membership, then your email address will not be in the authorized list of subscribers.

      If you are a current member, then it is possible that your email address was dropped from the list of subscribers due to a problem with delivery of list-server emails to that address. This can happen when the mail-server to which the list-server email is sent (list is in order of most common to least common occurrence):

      • rejects the list-server email because the deliver to email address is not valid;
      • rejects the list-server email due to spam filtering parameters setup on the company's mail-server;
      • is not receiving email because it is not operational. This may occur when companies are performing extended maintenance on their mail-server and take the company mail-server offline.

      After three (3) bounced emails, the list-server will automatically remove that email address from ALL list-server subscription lists.

      To ensure receipt of list-server email:

      • confirm the accuracy of your email address contained in the WDTL Member Directory. Correct the email address if it is wrong (Sign In required).
      • ask the administrator of your company mail-server to "white list" all email from wdtl.org.

      To resubscribe to a WDTL list-server, use the List-Servers Subscription Management web tool (Sign In required).

    • Your submission was rejected because the email address from which you sent your message was not found in the list of authorized subscribers for the list-server you were attempting to use. Your email address may not be in this list for any one of a number of reasons.

      Membership: WDTL list-servers are available to all current members. If you are not a WDTL member or did not renew your membership, then your email address will not be in the authorized list of subscribers.

      Subscriber: You may not have subscribed to the list-server you are attempting to use. To subscribe to a list-server, go to the List-Servers tab found under Member Center (Sign In required). Check the list-servers to which you want to subscribe, then click Update.

      Email Address Changed: If your email address changed or it is not the same as the email address we have on file, then your submission will be rejected. To update your email address, please refer to the corresponding FAQ found on this page.

      Email Address Dropped from Authorized List: If you are a current member, then it is possible that your email address was dropped from the list of subscribers due to a problem with delivery of list-server emails to that address. This can happen when companies are performing maintenance on their mail-server. After three (3) bounced emails, the list-server will automatically drop the bad email address.

      To resubscribe to a WDTL list-server, use the List-Servers Subscription Management web tool (Sign In required).
    • To update your email address for contact information, list-servers and security, update your email address in the Member Directory. To do this, Sign In using your Username and Password. Go to the Member Directory found under the Member Center tab. Search for your record. Click on the Edit (pencil) icon found to the left of your name. Make all changes to your record, then click Update.

    • If you receive no notification of a problem and your email is not getting distributed to the list, then your email may contain an attachment or your mail-server is not operating in compliance with RFC email server standards.

      Submissions containing attachments, including embedded signatures, are not permitted. Such submissions are automatically deleted without notification to sender. This rule is to protect all list-server subscribers from viruses that may be purposefully or inadvertently sent to the list-servers. If you have attachments or embedded signatures, removed these and resend your email to the list. Send the email as Plain Text will ensure no attachments are included.

      If you have no attachments or backgrounds in your email, then ask your mail-server administrator to be sure your mail-server is RFC compliant to respond to "try again later" messages from the receiving mail-server. Once your mail-server is properly configured, you should be able to send messages to WDTL lists.

      Our mail-server uses one of the most effective tools against spam: greylisting. Greylisting requires the sending mail-server to "try again later." Spam servers do not try again. RFC compliant mail-servers will try again later. However, not all mail-servers are properly configured to be RFC compliant. Those not proper configured will not re-try or re-send mail and the mail is simply discarded with no notification to the sender.
